Why the English language needs more than one word for love...

We are starting to have a Sunday evening tradition of having “milkshakes” for supper. The reason that word is in quotes is because I think they would more likely be called smoothies than milkshakes. They are pretty heavy on the fruit and light on the ice-cream. (Well, sometimes there’s a little more ice-cream.)

Anyway, last night as I was watching L drink hers with serious dedication, I asked her, “Do you love milkshakes?” She nodded. M asked her, “Do you love Daddy?” She nodded. Then she said, pointing at her glass, “I want Daddy in here!”

That is funny and oh, so cute. Makes you wonder how those little brains work. Maybe she loves her daddy so much, she'd like to drink him too!!

how cute! i kind of missed out on commenting on your last post...it looks good! i would never have guessed it could be 22 C there with all those...cold, wintery stockings hanging around. also, what's this about husbands feeling too much pressure with stockings? we just got some this year and when i told kirk we can fill each others' stockings he gave me quite a look. like 'are you serious? what the heck goes in a stocking?' to me it seems very fun, to him...not so much. why, dear abbie, why?

You have the cutest little girl! My last memory of her was at your parents and Matthew was standing at the other end of the livingroom holding her and he put her down and told her to give me a hug and kiss goodbye. So she ran across the room with her arms open and her little pony tail on her head bobbing away, and gave me the biggest hug a kid could give and a kiss. It was so cute. What a memory! Too cute!

Is that anything like when Rachel said to Josiah, "you're so cute I could spread you on a cracker and eat you!"? Maybe L gets that from her auntie Rachel.
